Ardrossan and Cumbrae Projects Benefit from Scottish Government Regeneration Funding

Two local community-led initiatives have received a combined £54,807 from the Scottish Government’s Strengthening Communities Programme, as part of a wider £2.5 million investment in regeneration projects across Scotland.

The funding will support Ardrossan Community Development Trust, awarded £45,207, and Cumbrae Community Development Company, which will receive £9,600.

Now in its 13th year, the Strengthening Communities Programme continues to empower local organisations to address challenges such as employability, population retention, housing, tourism, and food security.

The programme has supported 77 organisations this year alone, helping to transform disused buildings, create business hubs, and expand community services.

Commenting, Kenneth Gibson MSP said:

“This funding is a welcome boost for Ardrossan and Cumbrae, and a clear demonstration of the Scottish Government’s commitment to community-led regeneration.

“These projects are driven by local people who understand the needs and potential of their areas.

“I look forward to seeing the positive impact these initiatives will have in helping to build stronger, more resilient communities.”
