Celebrating 30 Years of National Lottery Heritage Funding

I was delighted to meet the National Lottery Heritage Fund at the Scottish Parliament.

The event marked three decades of investment
in Scotland’s heritage, with over £990 million awarded to more than 5,000 projects since 1994.

It was a valuable opportunity to engage directly with the Heritage Fund Scotland team and learn more about their work.

The Fund has provided grants to North Ayrshire initiatives like the replica above ground monitoring post at the Skelmorlie Secret Bunker and the West Kilbride Community Initiative’s 2023 Exhibition Programme.

It can also provide larger grants, such as the £164,762 awarded to the Community of Arran Seabed Trust’s (COAST’s) Now You SEA It! Project.

I would encourage groups across Cunninghame North to explore how local community-led heritage projects might benefit from this fund.
