Kilbirnie Employability Hub Officially Opened

Today marked the official opening of Kilbirnie Employability Hub.

Based in the town’s library, the new facility is a one-stop shop for people looking to find employment. The hub offers a drop-in service, as well as dedicated workshops and training to develop skills to find employment.

Services that are available from the hub include one-to-one 1-2-1 support for all ages; personal development training; employability workshops; support to access online services and help to match skills and interests to new opportunities.

The hub has been up and running for two months now and has already signed up 225 people.

The Kilbirnie Hub follows on from the opening of Stevenston and Ardrossan hubs, bringing public sector partners together to provide a seamless range of support for unemployed residents.

Said Kenneth Gibson:

“The SNP Government’s number one priority is job creation leading to sustainable economic growth. We are committed to working with all our partners to get more people into work. This and the services we fund here in North Ayrshire and the services are making a difference to people’s lives.

"The Kilbirnie library hub is an excellent example of joined-up local working and I believe that people from a variety of backgrounds, age groups and skill sets will benefit from the expertise available.

“I have no doubt this approach will continue to prove very successful and be expanded across North Ayrshire.”

The Employability Hub is open between 2pm and 5pm on Mondays and 10am to 1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

For more information, please phone the hub on 01505 681 228 or email kilbirnieemployabilityhub@gmail.com.
