With Daniel Fitzsimmons and Ryan Knox of Ayrshire College last night at Holyrood.
Ayrshire College was represented by five people including Alastair Heron, Head of Engineering and Science.
We discussed the college's heavy investment in the latest state of the art Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) equipment. This ensures that Ayrshire graduates have the skills to work with even the most modern of technologies, giving them an edge in the jobs market.
With the likelihood of several hundred job opportunities opening up at Hunterston over the next couple of years, I am keen to ensure that as many of those jobs as possible go to people in Ayrshire. Last week I met with Scottish Enterprise, Skills Development Scotland and the Peel Group and will continue to meet with them, to ensure that transpires.
