Yesterday afternoon I attended the above in Saltcoats Town Hall, where I spoke to Rebecca Payling, pictured with me, Prince’s Trust Enterprise Executive for Ayrshire.
The event celebrated the success of Prince’s Trust’s supported businesses and the collaborative school projects across Ayrshire.
It also promoted the good work Prince’s Trust does in encouraging young people to be self-sufficient and successful in enterprise and employment.
Across Ayrshire last year there were 210 young participants, resulting in 68 business start-ups. In total, 373 development grants, totalling £87,380 were awarded.
Developing the Young Workforce Ayrshire/Prince’s Trust Innovative School Projects which exhibited at the event included Bean Stock, Largs Academy; GROW, Garnock Academy and Higher Grounds, Auchenharvie Academy.
Awards were also presented to Ardrossan Academy and James Reid amongst other Ayrshire secondary schools.
North Ayrshire Business of the Year Award was won by Breeze Connection, Irvine, which provides business support and assistance to help tradesmen better serve their customers, in line with customer expectations.
The message of the event was: “there is a lot of support out there, so please use it!”
