On Tuesday 29 January, Kenneth attended the re-opening of the refurbished Dickson Court sheltered housing complex in Beith.
This £2.2 million project was delivered by North Ayrshire Council with a £1.2 million contribution from the SNP Government.
Each of the 22 flats is accessible to cater for the varying needs of individual residents. For example, each property with a wet floor shower room and residents now benefit from a wide array of upgrades and improvements, including enlarged kitchens, new central heating, the creation of a scooter store, new windows and doors throughout, accessible sockets and switches, electrical rewiring and an upgrade of the communal areas.
Dickson Court tenants were invited to participate in a number of consultation events at key stages throughout the project, with the feedback received informing the final design.
There is a friendly atmosphere in Dickson Court. The tenants Kenneth spoke to are really happy with the quality of workmanship and the warmth of their homes and neighbours.
