Last week, Kenneth asked Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity Michael Matheson MSP what impact a tram-train link from Glasgow Airport to Glasgow would have on the many people who commute from North Ayrshire to Glasgow.
In his response, he shared the view that there is a risk that it would have a detrimental impact on commuters and the economies of Ayrshire and Inverclyde which require access to the city.
Mr Matheson instead proposed a whole-systems approach to improving connectivity into the city, rather than pursuing one option that may cause detriment to other services that come into the city.
