Over the next two years, councils will benefit from an extra £80 million on top of previously announced funding for affordable housing.
This means that local authorities will share a total of £1,300 million from 2019-2021 to help achieve the SNP Government’s ambitious aim to deliver 50,000 affordable homes, including 35,000 available for social rent, from 2016-2021.
North Ayrshire Council will receive £16,112,000 for affordable housing in 2019-20 and £17,093,000 in 2020-21. This constitutes a total investment in North Ayrshire of £33,205,000 over the next two years.
The £80 million additional investment will be shared between local authorities using a needs-based formula agreed with the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) in 2012.
