Scotland Should Not Have to Mitigate Tory Welfare Cuts

14 May 2019

On Wednesday, in response to a question by Kenneth Gibson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Social Security and Older People Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP said:

"The fact that we have to provide for the nearly one third of a million households in Scotland that require a Scottish welfare fund is a sad indictment of the UK Government’s record on welfare cuts. We have provided money to ensure that the Scottish welfare fund is there for people who are in crisis."
