Time for Government to Scrap Apprenticeship Levy

In this week's exchange with the First Minister about the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on youth unemployment, Kenneth has called for the UK Government to abolish the Apprenticeship Levy. Scrapping the levy would make it more feasible for employers to be able to employ apprentices and limit an increase in youth unemployment due to the crisis. The Tories introduced the levy in 2017 without consulting with the Scottish Government, despite skills and apprenticeships being devolved. Like with so many other bad Tory Government policy decisions, the SNP Government in Scotland chose to mitigate this by setting up a fund.
