Scotland’s roads network is to receive an additional £34 million over the next 12 months.
The SNP Government will increase the maintenance budget for Scotland's trunk roads from £165m this financial year to £199m from April. Kenneth Gibson said:
"This increase in funding of over 20% is most welcome.
"Our trunk road network is a vital arterial route, enabling the transport of people, goods and services throughout Scotland. Maintaining that network in good condition is vital, including the A737 and A78 here in Cunninghame North
"The money will go towards safety work, inspection and bridge maintenance, with additional repairs to road surfaces to address potholes and other defects." ENDS
