This month is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month and Scottish charity Cahonas is encouraging men across North Ayrshire and Scotland to check themselves.
In Scotland, 179 men were diagnosed with Testicular Cancer between October 2019 and September 2020.
This was a small reduction from the previous years (192 men were diagnosed between October 2018 and September 2019 and 181 between October 2017 and September 2018).
Kenneth Gibson MSP said:
“If detected early, testicular cancer has more than a 98% cure rate.
“It’s a small effort to check yourself regularly and can be life saving, so please make sure you make a habit of doing this.”
