On Tuesday 21 June I attended a progress report by Liam McArthur MSP, pictured, on his Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill.
A huge number of consultation responses were received and are currently being analysed.
Seventeen MSPs attended from all five Holyrood parties. We heard both personal statements from Joanne Easton and Elena Whitham MSP. Each had lost a father and mother respectively, for whom this Bill would have made a difference to their end of life. Actor Sir Patrick Stewart appeared in a short, supportive, video clip.
We now await the draft Bill.
