Earlier this afternoon, I raised the impact on ferry services to Arran caused by the sudden closure of the Irish berth in Ardrossan Harbour last Thursday.
There is a deep sense of frustration with the harbour operators over their lack of communication and urgency.
It is fair to say that a lack of investment in Ardrossan Harbour – privatised by the Tories - has led to a breakdown of trust locally in the harbour owners.
This episode highlights the urgent need for the Ardrossan Harbour Redevelopment Project to start work on site and ensure a more reliable and resilient Arran ferry service that is fit for the future.
