I met with Ana Allamand, Farming and Land Use Manager, Soil Association Scotland to discuss the continuing reforestation of Scotland as part of our plans to tackle the Climate Emergency.
The SNP Government is increasing tree planting to 18,000 hectares a year by 2024.
Integrating agroforestry and farm woodland will enhance biodiversity, water quality, landscape amenity value and animal welfare alongside climate mitigation.
Increased adoption of agroforestry also has the potential to enhance Scotland’s food production and its resilience.
