Free App reads Magazines and Newspapers to Visually and Reading Impaired People

Cue and Review - “Print Speaking to the Blind” - transcribes 29 Scottish print magazines and newspapers into audio format for the benefit of the visually and reading impaired. This can be accessed and downloaded online daily, free of charge, via any Alexa device.

The project is heavily reliant on volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer reader, or just want more information, please visit the link below or email Alastair McPhee.

“Funding of £50,485 from the SNP Government’s Community Recovery Fund through the National Lottery Community Fund has enabled Cue and Review, since January 2021, to work on this joint project with the British Wireless for the Blind Fund. I am delighted that it’s going from strength to strength.”

The charity also partners with Erskine Veterans Charity, as the service is particularly useful for many of their care home residents, including those with dementia.

If you are interested in this service, or know someone who might be, please share this and visit the Cue and Review website.
