Gibson and SNP Re-elected to Scottish Parliament

Kenneth Gibson was last night re-elected to represent the Cunninghame North constituency in the Scottish Parliament. The SNP was re-elected to an unprecedented third term in government.

The local MSP was re-elected with 16,587 votes – increasing his majority to 8,724 and securing more than half of all votes cast. The Conservatives trailed behind with 7,863 votes and Labour slid down to third place with only 6,735 votes.

Commenting, Kenneth said:

“I would like to thank everyone who campaigned so hard and voted to secure another victory for the SNP in Cunninghame North.

“We were able to campaign on a very positive message and I think people are seeing that the SNP has been busy delivering important projects in the constituency, such as the Dalry Bypass, the construction of new schools and of course the regeneration of Brodick Harbour.

“The priorities of Cunninghame North continue to be inward investment through job creation, improving our education system, NHS funding and the integration of health and social care.

“I look forward to working on these challenges and will of course continue to be an accessible and assiduous MSP for Cunninghame North.”
