More than £118 million has been invested into Scotland’s hotels in the first half of 2017, matching the total investment of £119.7 million in 2016, according to real estate advisor Savills.
Overseas investors have been particularly active in Scotland, spending £46 million across six deals, almost six times higher than that seen in 2016, £7.8 million.
Commenting, Kenneth Gibson said:
"This investment is great news for our tourism sector, creating jobs and enhancing accommodation choice.
"Importantly, it shows the faith people have in what Scotland has to offer both foreign and domestic travellers to and across our beautiful country."
