Kenneth Appointed Convener of Finance and Public Administration Committee


Kenneth Gibson MSP has been appointed Convener of the Scottish Parliament’s Finance and Public Administration (FPA) Committee.

The remit of the FPA Committee includes scrutiny of:

• Public spending • Income tax and other devolved taxes • Scottish Government borrowing • Annual Scottish Budget • Medium Term Financial Strategy • The Fiscal Framework • Public Sector Reform • National Performance Framework • Public Administration

Membership is:

Kenneth Gibson, John Mason and Michelle Thomson (all SNP) Daniel Johnson (Labour and Deputy Convener) Andrew Lumsden and Liz Smith (both Tory) Patrick Harvie (Green)

Kenneth said:

“I’m delighted to have been entrusted with the task of convening this important committee.

“Our workload is challenging. Nevertheless, our team of MSPs backed by experienced clerks and the Scottish Parliament Information Centre’s Financial Scrutiny Unit, Committee Advisers and our expert panel will stand us in good stead over the weeks and months ahead.
