Inward investment projects in 2015/16 created or secured more new jobs than in the preceding year according to new figures from the UK Department for International Trade.
UK Government figures show 5,905 jobs were created or safeguarded in Scotland in 2015/16, up from 5,385 in 2014/15, an increase of almost 10%.
Commenting, Kenneth Gibson said:
“These impressive results show that Scotland continues to be the place in which to do business.
“The SNP Government and its agencies have broadened their reach with emerging economies across the world to ensure Scotland remains at the forefront of decisions to invest.
“This continued vote of confidence, which has seen Scotland firmly in the top two of UK nations and regions securing overseas investment over the last decade, will help attract further foreign interest, helping to create jobs, security and opportunities for people across Scotland”
