SNP-run North Ayrshire Council has announced an additional £100 cost of living payment for low-income families who receive free school meals.
This will be automatically paid at the end of July along with the Summer Child Bridging Payment, received by the families of 19,992 local children and will also be extended to pre-school children eligible for low-income free school meals.
The cost of living crisis and harsh cuts implemented by Westminster are having a detrimental effect on low-income families and I’m pleased that the local authority is working to further support families at this difficult time.
