North Ayrshire Employment Fayre Success

Last Friday’s event in Saltcoats Town Hall, organised by Kenneth and Patricia Gibson, brought together over 40 businesses and employers together with local job seekers.

Both national and local companies, ranging from GSK, Thales and Tesco to McTaggart Construction, the Royal Navy  and Dunbia participated to help provide an opportunity for people of all ages to meet employers with vacancies, as well as organisations who help people into work.

One of the photos is of two young folk who are applying to Harley Davidson, one of the participating businesses.

Kenneth Gibson said:

“Last Friday’s Employment Fayre was hugely successful, and I was delighted to see so many businesses actively recruiting on the day. Senior school pupils, students, those seeking training and those with years of work experience attended.

“This was a terrific opportunity for employers and people looking for meaningful employment to be together under one roof. The feedback on the day from both employers and attendees has been very positive and I am pleased this event gave so many people a chance to speak to employers and potentially secure work.”

Patricia Gibson added:

“I want to thank everyone who helped make this event such a success, from the employers to everyone who came along.

“Events like this can only help people find jobs, while introducing others to careers that they might not have previously considered. For those seeking work, that initial contact with an employer is essential and can be instrumental in securing formal interviews, job offers and apprenticeships.”
