With Richard Baker, Policy Manager for Royal Blind and Scottish War Blinded, at Royal Blind’s exhibition and reception this week at the Scottish Parliament.
Royal Blind celebrated its 225th anniversary this week and provides care, education and employment for people with sight loss from across Scotland.
I pledged my support for their vision of equal education for pupils with visual impairment.
Research has shown that up to 80% of learning is visual and it is therefore vital that blind and partially sighted pupils receive additional support.
I look forward to working with colleagues to ensure that all 4,331 pupils in Scotland with visual impairment receive the support they need to reach their full potential and narrow the attainment gap.
