Scottish Budget means £25.1 Million Boost for NHS Ayrshire & Arran

Health services in Ayrshire will receive an above inflation £25.1 million boost next year, the SNP Government unveiled in its 12 December budget.

This will see NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s funding increase by 3.6%.

The budget saw Finance Secretary Derek Mackay MSP increase total health and care funding across Scotland by £724.1 million. The SNP Government now spends 47.2% of its entire resource budget on the NHS.

Commenting, Kenneth Gibson MSP said:

“I’m sure people will welcome the significant investment in our local NHS services, with a real-term increase in spending.

“The SNP values our NHS and is determined to ensure it continues to deliver for the NHS here in Ayrshire and across Scotland.”
