Health services in Ayrshire will receive an above inflation £25.1 million boost next year, the SNP Government unveiled in its 12 December budget.
This will see NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s funding increase by 3.6%.
The budget saw Finance Secretary Derek Mackay MSP increase total health and care funding across Scotland by £724.1 million. The SNP Government now spends 47.2% of its entire resource budget on the NHS.
Commenting, Kenneth Gibson MSP said:
“I’m sure people will welcome the significant investment in our local NHS services, with a real-term increase in spending.
“The SNP values our NHS and is determined to ensure it continues to deliver for the NHS here in Ayrshire and across Scotland.”
