Kenneth Gibson has welcomed news that more than one in ten workers in Scotland are self-employed, according to a new economic survey by the Royal Bank of Scotland, which says almost 300,000 Scots have set up on their own in business.
Said Kenneth:
"Small businesses are the lifeblood of the Scottish economy. All big businesses were small once; all provide employment and many have the potential for growth. That is why the SNP Government is providing more than half a billion pounds of support to small businesses each year.
"Running a business is not easy and not all make it. Those which do hold the key to Scotland's future prosperity."
