Action on Hearing Loss, the largest charity for people with hearing loss in the UK, has been awarded £123,352 from the SNP Government’s Social Economy Growth Fund, to allow them to continue offering their Hear On Welfare project in communities across Scotland, including North Ayrshire.
Hear On Welfare supports people with hearing loss and their family members to ensure that they have access to all the benefits they are entitled to. Staff support those in need through every step of the benefits process, from information and advice on applications, to formal representation at tribunals.
Action on Hearing Loss can offer advice on Job Seekers Allowance (JSA); Employment and Support Allowance (ESA); Disability Living Allowance (DLA); Personal Independence Payment (PIP); Housing Benefit; and Universal Credit.
With this additional funding from the SNP Government, the project will be able to continue until at least April 2019.
