To mark #WorldCancerDay, I was pleased to talk to That’s TV about NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s Early Cancer Diagnostic Centre at University Hospital Ayr.
One of three pilots in Scotland, the centre opened in June 2021 allowing patients presenting non-specific symptoms of cancer to be urgently referred and receive results within 21 days.
This year’s ‘Close the Care Gap’ campaign hopes to highlight the inequalities in cancer care around the world and celebrate the progress being made, such as these innovative centres.
