Woven in Govan

On Thursday 21 April at the Scottish Parliament Kenneth spoke to representatives of Woven in Govan.

This high profile collaborative project was established by Fablevision a year ago to commission female artists to develop new works which draw upon the broad themes of care, caring and women’s roles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pop up exhibitions were subsequently held in Govan’s Wh•eat Cafe, Scottish Parliament and atrium of Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Kenneth said:

“I was delighted to view the work of Woven in Govan, which is part of an international collaboration, Woven Network, led by Platform TU in Mariupol Ukraine.

“The artists and contributors have not only given so much creatively, they have also given themselves emotionally to this fascinating project.”

Everyone involved in the Woven in Govan project stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine during Russia’s unprovoked invasion and with their friends and TU Platform partners at this difficult time.
