Yesterday I was delighted to meet local apprentices as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2023 the theme of which is “unlocking potential” this year.
I visited R Stalker and son Butchers in Dalry and I enjoyed speaking to owner Ronnie Stalker, William Kemp of Craft Skills Scot and Kerr and Kai, two of the shop’s three Modern Apprentices who are on the Food and Drink Operations framework.
I was honoured to present Kerr Stalker with his Level 2 Modern Apprenticeship in Meat and Poultry Skills at SCQF Level 5.
Scottish Apprenticeship Week this year takes place from 6-10 March and shows how apprenticeships are unlocking potential in people and businesses.
Apprenticeships remain fundamentally important to employers and allow people to gain and develop skills which will support them throughout their working life.
