Scottish Water customers will have the opportunity to help decide the future of Scotland’s waste and water services, as part of a six-month consultation period to determine investment priorities beyond 2021.
The publicly-owned utility has outlined its ambitions for the coming decades, which include delivering a consistently leading customer experience, keeping customer prices low, and increasing the reliability and sustainability of their service.
Now, customers are being asked to contribute their priorities for Scotland’s water services which could range from transitioning to a low carbon future, to reducing the impact of extreme weather on service delivery, to improving disinfection and overall treatment practices.
Kenneth Gibson MSP said:
“Scottish Water provides vital water and waste water services to nearly every household and business in Scotland, as well as playing a key role in the health, prosperity and the sustainability of our natural environment.
“I therefore encourage anyone interested in the future of our waste and water supply to share their ideas about how Scottish Water can deliver the best service possible to the people of Scotland and have a say in where public money should be invested in the decades to come."
