British Transport Police

At the Scottish Parliament I met British Transport Police Assistant Chief Constable Ian Drummond-Smith and Chief Superintendent Lorna McEwan.

They were keen to highlight the 61016 text service which operates 24/7 to report non-emergency incidents on the rail network.

Using this text discreetly enables crime or concerns to be reported in confidence while travelling on a train.

Safety of all rail passengers is BTP's overriding priority.

Emergencies should always be reported using 999.
