Supporting Scotland’s Libraries

I was proud to attend the Scottish Library and Information Council’s special parliamentary reception, sponsored by my SNP colleague Clare Adamson MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw.

I have many happy memories of a childhood spent in Kingston, Partick, Cardonald and Ibrox libraries in particular.

The Holyrood reception came shortly after they launched Vision Statement, Securing the Future of Scotland’s Libraries, and gave me the opportunity to speak about the challenges and opportunities local libraries are faced with.

Pictured is Katrina Romanis, the Area Customer Service Officer, of East Lothian Council with whom I talked about the wider library sector and work underway to ensure Scotland’s libraries continue to deliver for communities across Scotland.
