Langoustines on the Clyde

Since its introduction, the annual closure of the Clyde spawning ground has included exemptions to allow nephrops trawlers and creels and scallop dredgers to continue to fish for langoustines. However, there will be no exemptions to this year's Clyde closure from 14 February to 30 April because prior exemptions did not lead to fish stock recovery.

Kenneth asked Rural Affairs and Islands Secretary Mairi Gougeon MSP what positive impact she anticipates that this temporary closure will have on future fish stocks.
