Yesterday I participated with Dr Philippa Whitford MP and Patricia Gibson MP in an information event organised by North Ayrshire Foodbank to raise awareness of issues ranging from food security to food poverty to the need to grow more nutritious food locally and sustainably.
I presented on what the SNP Government is doing and has done to tackle these issues.
Nearly thirty community organisations had stands and displays and examples of imaginative budget cooking was provided by Ardrossan Academy Home Economics Department, Ukrainian refugees and many others.
It was a very informative and interesting afternoon and I thank Craig Crosthwaite and Nathan Payne of North Ayrshire Foodbank for organising it.
